Wordsmith – A Journey Through the History of American Hip Hop

Attention fans of American Hip Hop! The U.S. Embassy in Tunis is delighted to announce a virtual workshop and live concert led by professional Hip Hop musician and American Arts Envoy, Wordsmith.

Workshop – November 20

During the one-hour virtual Hip Hop workshop session on November 20, Wordsmith and his team will explore the birth of American Hip Hop and demonstrate the major periods of its development through live performances. Wordsmith will also lead an interactive session on the major forms of Hip Hop expression in the U.S., including songwriting, beatbox, drumming and dance. The workshop is open to both professional and amateur artists and the cost is FREE!

Virtual Facebook Concert – November 21

The U.S. Embassy will host a free live performance featuring Wordsmith and his band, which highlights self-expression and community-building through American Hip Hop music. Join us Saturday November 21 at 19:00 on the U.S. Embassy’s Facebook’s page for this incredible live Hip Hop experience. Don’t miss it!

About the Artist:

Anthony Parker, known by his stage name Wordsmith, is a Baltimore-based rapper, musician, and entrepreneur. He produces Hip Hop with a strong motivational message. His mission is to entertain and educate through a message of purpose while providing clean, quality, marketable Music for the Masses. He has released five albums over his career and is a member of the nominating committee for the Grammy Awards as a songwriter. In 2009, he founded the NU Revolution record label.

The Arts Envoy Program shares the best of the U.S. arts community with the world to foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration and to demonstrate shared values and aspirations. American arts professionals– including performing artists, visual artists, poets,

playwrights, theatrical and film directors, curators, and others– travel overseas or connect virtually to conduct workshops, give performances, and mentor young people. Programs seek to connect with international publics that might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with American arts professionals.
