President Caid Essebsi was the stabilizing force who led Tunisia through the early challenges of its transition to democracy.
He was a tireless champion for the growth and prosperity of his country and its people.
President Caid Essebsi’s leadership has been a pillar upon which Tunisia has grown.
I was honored to serve as an observer during the 2014 Tunisian elections.
President Caid Essebsi will be remembered as his country’s first democratically elected President, a statesman who laid the foundation for Tunisia’s future liberties and prosperity, and a valued partner for the United States.
