On Friday, August 7, UCLA’s Dr. Nouri Gana, editor of The Making of the Tunisian Revolution: Contexts, Architects, Prospects, spoke about the country’s political evolution with 42 scholars, students and journalists at the IRC. The Tunisian-born Gana discussed the book’s development, international media coverage of Tunisia’s revolution and the nation’s culture of dissent. His talk was followed by a lively Q&A session, which touched on numerous topics, including the lingering influence of the old regime, Islamists, political parties and differences between Tunisia and Egypt.
