Tunisian Fulbright Society Hosts Talk on English Teacher Training

The U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Tunisian Fulbright Society (TFS) hosted a talk on English Teacher Training in Tunisia. Guest speakers included Abir Hmem, an English teacher and a second year student in the TESOL Master’s degree program at 9 Avril University, Stephen Sharpe, a Senior Teacher of Adults at British Council, and Saida Jedidi Sfaxi, the U.S. Embassy English Language Teaching Coordinator. All three speakers discussed career development opportunities for Tunisian teachers of English as well as opportunities that might be of personal interest to teachers. TFS President Khouloud Khammassi talked briefly about her personal experience with PCELT training and explained how it is a life-changing training for teachers. The audience consisted of enthusiastic English teachers who expressed their interest in the training opportunities offered by the Embassy and other presenters, and all present noted they look forward to the next TFS talk.
