Sara Snoussi, a 2015 Thomas Jefferson alumna, was chosen to represent the Kids Uprise project at the annual Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) meeting at the University of California, Berkeley in early April. Kids Uprise is an initiative developed by Sarah and her fellow Thomas Jefferson alumni to create a network of school clubs to teach children soft skills and creative problem solving while motivating them to dream up and pursue their own innovative solutions. Former President Bill Clinton hosts CGIU each year, creating a space to foster and nurture innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. During CGIU students developed their practical skills by identifying potential partners and formulating concrete plans of action for the months ahead. Proud of her experience, Sarah says “I was extremely honored to represent my team and country, as I was the only Tunisian among more than 1200 participants at the annual CGIU meeting. Stepping into the environment of world leaders and highly accomplished professionals was inspiring, life changing and amazingly encouraging. The experience truly motivated me to bring Kids Uprise to the next level.”
