Security Message for U.S. Citizens
In light of the upcoming Easter holiday and recent terrorist attacks which targeted religious institutions in Egypt, U.S. Embassy personnel have been advised to maintain a heightened state of alert, to avoid crowds and demonstrations, and understand that places of worship may be targets over the upcoming Easter holiday. U.S. citizens should exercise caution when visiting public and religious venues,remain aware of local security developments, and report suspicious activity to the local police. U.S. citizens are reminded that the Travel Warning issued by the Department of State on September 29, 2016, for Tunisia remains in effect.
