The U.S. Embassy had the pleasure to visit the Gammarth Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Film Studies (ESAC) and the Higher School of Audiovisual and Design (ESAD) this week, where U.S. filmmaker Linda Mills, visiting Tunisia as part of the American Film Showcase (AFS) program, screened Of Many, her 30-minute documentary of the extraordinary friendship between an orthodox rabbi and an imam, both of whom serve as university chaplains at New York University. Accompanied by AFS representative Alan Baker, Ms. Mills took more than 120 students on an intellectually stimulating journey, conducting Q&A sessions at both schools. Students learned about filmmaking techniques in the U.S. and the way personal stories can turn into inspiring documentaries, helping humanity to breach long-standing divides.
