The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that enable women workers to participate more fully in the workforce.
DRL’s goal is to increase women’s full, equal, and safe participation in the workforce, including vulnerable women worker’s access to decent work. DRL’s objectives are to improve work conditions for vulnerable women workers; improve processes for women to access quality employment; promote enabling environments to increase women’s economic empowerment and opportunity; and reduce barriers and enhance protections in policies, laws, regulations and practices (public and private) to facilitate women’s participation in the economy. DRL’s expected outcome is that women are able to obtain decent work that allows them to enhance their social status, enabling them to voice their concerns about rights at work; advocate for their human rights; organize; participate in decisions affecting their work and lives; and benefit from equal treatment and opportunities.
