March 5th Investment and Entrepreneurship Conference

The U.S. Department of State, the American Chamber of Commerce in Tunisia (AmCham Tunisia), and Partners for a New Beginning – North Africa Partnership for Economic Opportunity (PNB-NAPEO) are pleased to announce an Investment and Entrepreneurship Conference that will be held in Tunis on March 5, 2015.  The theme of this Conference will be “building strategic partnerships.”   The conference will bring together more than 300 international participants from the business community, civil society and governments.  U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will lead a delegation of senior U.S. government officials and representatives from the American business community.

This conference will showcase Tunisia’s potential as a market for international business, foster dialogue about Tunisia’s economic reform agenda, and provide valuable networking opportunities for entrepreneurs and business leaders.  Themes to be highlighted at the conference include regional investment opportunities, Tunisia’s potential as a Maghreb hub connecting Africa to Europe and the United States, and innovative finance as a tool for economic growth.

The Conference will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Beji Caid Essebsi, President of the Tunisian Republic. His Excellency Habib Essid, Prime Minister  of the Tunisian Republic, will open the conference with a keynote address, followed by remarks from Secretary of Commerce Pritzker.   Other participants include former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; Minister of Finance Slim Chaker; Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Yassine Brahim; and the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Zied Ladhari.  Tunisian, Maghreb and American private sector representatives and other international figures will also take part in the conference, bringing their expertise and experience to bear in analyzing the challenges and opportunities related to investment, development and entrepreneurship in the region.
