The journey of the 2015 Tunisian TechWomen has begun! Seven participants from all over Tunisia attended a pre-departure orientation at the U.S. Embassy in September. TechWomen alumna Amel Ghouila, with the help of other alumnae, walked them through different phases of the program and shared tips on how to make their participation more fruitful.
Having arrived in the U.S. and participated in a kickoff day where they presented the different regions of Tunisia they come from, the TechWomen are now engaged in a five-week program which empowers, connects, and supports emerging women leaders in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields including project-based mentorships at leading companies in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. After the completion of the program TechWomen alumnae will return to Tunisia with new ideas for implementing projects and inspiring young girls to get more involved in the STEM field.
