Job Fair for the Northwest

Hope in the forecast: Connecting Youth to Job Opportunities!

USAID Tunisia JOBS and the University of Jendouba 4C (Center for Career Development and Certification) organized a Job Fair for the Northwest on April 4th in Jendouba.

Economic activity in Jendouba is geographically spread out. Job seekers have a difficult time finding opportunities that are available, and there aren’t enough structures in place to help companies find recruits.

The event created a space for jobs seekers and companies to come together and discuss their professional goals and needs. Job seekers can learn to prepare their CVs and improve their job search techniques with certified experts. Companies can find and interview qualified candidates. Through this, JOBS aims to bridge the gap that exists between private companies and young people in the Northwest.

The pouring rain did not stop the event from being a huge success: Sixteen companies, and over 400 students and job-seekers came to the fair. JOBS’ partners organized workshops on video CVs (over fifty participants) and job search techniques (over thirty-two participants). Over 50 interviews between companies and job-seekers took place on-site.

The Job Fair of the Northwest is only the beginning for JOBS, which is actively expanding its work in the region – with enterprises, with university 4C partners, with job seekers, with associations, and with financial institutions – towards a brighter future.
