(TAP) – Interior Minister Hichem Mechichi met, on Wednesday in Tunis, U.S. ambassador in Tunis, Donald Blome.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the Tunisian-US cooperation, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism, training and education, as well as issues of common interest, a statement of the Interior Ministry said.
The two sides stressed the importance of bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of competence of the Interior Departments of both countries.
They also commended the level of bilateral cooperation illustrating the historical ties between the two countries.
Both sides also expressed their readiness to improve bilateral cooperation in the interest of Tunisia and the United States.
