As part of its effort to promote women’s rights in Tunisian society through its project Empower To Lead, WeYouth organized the first Women Debate Tournament last week in Sousse. The tournament gathered 32 female activists from different parts of the country to debate women’s rights and the status of women in Tunisia. In addition to debating, participants also received training sessions on gender issues, advocacy and project management. Cultural Affairs Assistant Refka Nsiri also attended this event as a debate judge and informed participants about different USG exchange and educational opportunities. Special thanks to WeYouth team and to all USG alumni who attended the event and shared their experiences in the U.S. as part of the exchange programs.
