Foreign Agricultural Service
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Foreign Agricultural Service(FAS) in Tunis, Tunisia is under the supervision of the Regional Agricultural Attaché based in Rabat, Morocco.
FAS primary mission is to improve market access for U.S. products and to promote and facilitate exports of U.S. agricultural products.
FAS Tunis facilitates contacts between Tunisian importers and U.S. exporters of agricultural, food and beverage products; our office also maintains close contact with Tunisian agriculture government officials as well as public and private agribusinesses. Moreover, we assist U.S. exporters to make business contacts and understand the Tunisian market, in addition to recruit and sponsor potential buyers to visit U.S. food show and organize marketing events. Furthermore, FAS Tunis works closely with USDA-sponsored industry organizations such as U.S. Wheat Associates, U.S. Grains Council to sponsor several outreach activities. Besides, we manage USDA’s credit guarantee programs and several fellowship programs such as the Cochran Fellowship Program.
