Connect – hangout – interact and join a collaborative music industry conversation
From February to June 2021, the U.S. Embassy is proud to support a creative collaboration with U.S.-based NGO Planet Arts. Join us for a gathering of musicians, producers and educators from the United States and Tunisia to share ideas, methods and experiences in developing and maintaining creative and successful careers in the music industry – including tips for managing the pandemic. This series of virtual interactions will focus on entrepreneurship concepts for independent musicians and will continue through June of 2021.

*Ben Allison has developed an international reputation as a performer, composer and producer and is a leading voice in contemporary jazz. He performs worldwide with his groups Think Free, The Trio, and the Ben Allison Band. Ben is also on of the creators of the innovative Jazz Composers Collective.

*Fawzi Chekili has been leading several jazz projects over the last thirty five years in his home country and abroad, not only performing as a fine guitarist and composer but also creating several events featuring world renowned jazz artists.
*Douglas Purviance has toured extensively with the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band, The Carnegie Hall Jazz Band and the Mingus Big Band. Currently he is the most wanted bass trombone player in the New York jazz scene and is playing with the Jimmy Heath Big Band; Christian McBride Big Band, Ron Carter’s Great Big Band and Jon Faddis’ New York Jazz Orchestra.
