
As part of her visit to Djerba, Chargée d’affaires, a.i. Natasha Franceschi enjoyed a toٍur of the handicraft village in Houmet Souk. Chargée Franceschi visited with talented local artisans and learned more about the role of the handicraft sector in supporting Tunisia’s economy. U.S. Embassy Tunisia is working closely with Tunisian artisans, through a 16 million TND program, to help them market their products, expand their business, and access new international markets. The U.S. is proud to be the leading destination for Tunisian handicrafts, with more than 25 million TND worth of handicrafts exported in 2020.
