While in Sousse Chargée d’Affaires a.i. Natasha Franceschi and USAID Tunisia Mission Director Scott Dobberstein met with co-founders Wael Ben Lamine and Oussama Ghazel at Xpert-Meca, an innovative startup specializing in industrial machinery design, manufacturing, and maintenance and their team of young engineers. Thanks to U.S. Government support through USAID, the startup was able to procure new machinery, allowing it to reduce production costs, increase exports to international markets, and create new jobs.
In the governorate of Sousse, USAID has assisted more than 1,200 small and medium-sized enterprises to create over 2,000 jobs and increase sales by $88 million TND!
